Farmall H lift-all drive shaft

On my H, I replaced the seal on the lift-all drive shaft on the transmission side. I took off the big round nut like was suggested on this site with a pipe wrench. Do I tighten up this round nut with the pipe wrench or just leave it just finger tight. The reason I am asking is that the shaft comming out of the trans turns in the direction to loosen that round nut . I also noticed that my shaft with the sliding collers is a little loose, how loose is too loose? Thanks.
