Dave: One would have to look at individual lever and plate. On my SA and 130 the lever was worn. I built it up with weld then ground it off to right shape. I also found the spring weak. This of course was what allowed it to slip over the teeth on plate in beginning. The wear was the result rather than the cause. Just pick up a new spring from CaseIH. It will soon tell you just how bad old spring is. The teeth on plate must be in good shape also. One of mine needed a new plate. I make a point now of lifting lever away from plate when advancing lever same as you have to when slowing down. My reasoning is I'm willing to bet new plate will not be the quality of the old one.
