M carb is cold and sweating while running

Hey all, got this old M up and going today. I was letting her run for a bit and noticed the carb was sweating and was cold to the touch. I work for Carrier for a living and know a small bit about A/C, but Ive never seen a Carb sweat. That would mean that the carb was acting like a metering device dropping the pressure of the fuel and it flashing at the inlet of the intake manifold dropping the pressure/temp. Ive never seen this on a carb. Has anyone else?
