OT...Trailer brakes lock up!

Well,the brakes on my trailer were working fine last week.Loaded up my old M to go to a show last weekend,and guess what,when I hit the brakes,the trailer brakes locked up tight.Thank God I was still in the driveway when it happened and not on the road.I have gone through the wiring and the brakes themselves,all appears to be good,but I did do some maitence while I had the brakes apart.No change!Ya think my controller is shot?Recommendations on a new one?Thanks!
