I had an episode of the brakes wanting to lock up on my 30 ft. travel trailer when exiting the campground last Oct. Within a half mile from camping spot I was on the side of the road with the rear axle tires pointing about 15 degrees outward. I have been told that brakes cannot bend the axles/spindles, but mine were bent at the spindle. A new heavier axle was my remedy. My controller was 5 months old and I still have it. My axle was a 1990 model w/ probably less than 10-12k miles on it. My .02 worth...Hoppy is the brand of controller...made by Tekonsha I believe.
