It doesn't sound normal. Make certain your liftall mounting bolts are tight. If they aren't and the liftall sags a little, the coupling that is steel that looks like a lovejoy coupling can and will make a wild trip through the clutch housing and wipe out, among other things, the clutch fingers. I've got a IH repair manual that I will give you info out of if you E-mail me.
