It has to be the seal at the front of the injection pump. The pump drives off the timing gear, so it that seal leaks, diesel can go into the engine oil. Not real familiar with the guts of the gas start diesel injection system, but I do know that a faulty seal can cause diesel fuel to leak into the crankcase and also can cause diesel to leak into the separate oil sump of the injection pump.
