I bought a new cork float from Rice Equipment about 3 years ago for my 10-20, and I have had a problem with the shellac peeling off. I started the tractor last year after it sat for about two years, and the carb had a lot of flakes of shellac in it. I had drained the carb before I stored the tractor, so I don't know if it's because the float dried out or what. After I cleaned out the carb it ran pretty good. I drove it about 1 1/2 miles to the other end of the farm, where it eventually died when I started climbing a hill. We pulled it to the top, then tried starting it and it started fine. Not sure if that was because of fuel level in the carb or rust in the tank clogging the fuel bowl inlet. I found a previous posting regarding brass floats that recommended Branson Enterprises in Illinois. I called them two weeks ago and they have brass floats for the 10-20. They're $45.00 each, plus $5.00 shipping. Their phone# is 815-633-4262. I'm going to try running my 10-20 again next week, and if I have more problems with the float I may order one of these. Regarding the line on the inside of the bowl: if I remember right, I think my carb has two lines machined into it; a wider one and a narrow one. Which line is the one to use, the highest one?
