RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) silicone is a great product and I highly recomend. There are however 3 secrets. 1. Both mating surfaces MUST be free of old gasket material and/or RTV. 2. Clean both mating surfaces with brake cleaner. Oil and/or other petroleum substances MUST be removed. 3. Apply suffiecent amount of RTV,install parts and tighten fasteners to specs. Let the RTV set up for 24 hrs. if you can. I always don't have that kind of time but you are better off. Good Luck, Mike
