Matt, Try putting a Large plastic garbage bag over the entire grill (with the tractor running). It shouldn't take long for the temp gauge to start climbing...normal underload temp should be about 180F. Just idling barely registering on the gauge. If you have a original temp gauge the needle should be around the "N" of "RUN" when you're working the tractor. Other factors include grease and dirt build-up on the engine, condition of radiator, etc. Go get yourself an 88cent off-set funnel at Kmart in the automotive dept. and hold it up under the drain pipe on bottom of radiator. Recommend only Hy-tran hydraulic fluid available from your Case/IH dealer for the lift-all. Good luck!
