Low pressure on 800 planter

I have an 800 planter with a 540 rpm pump that I can't get over 5oz pressure. My dealer says the pump is bad & he will sell me a rebuilt one for $1000. Is there some way to make sure that it isn't the pump? I have checked out the gauge already. BTW I am done planting so just want to get this fixed for next year.
