Your dealer should have some means of testing the pump. Have them actually show you that it's bad before you spend $1000. The only other things I can think of that would cause low pressure are bad seal on the lid, bad seal on the drum, and hot oil (dirty cooler). I don't have the manual in front of me but I know the troubleshooting section gives a list of causes.
