I'm new to Farmall.. There is a Super C 52 model near me that I looked at. Tractor is complete....all metal work is pretty good....hood and grill has surface rust with most of the paint gone... Fenders are solid with more advanced rust....seat is pretty bad, as well as the area around the throttle and steering wheel. One rear tire looks half decent, the rest need replaced.(Tricycle front end) A guy that I work with is storing it(outside) for another fellow.....said that when he brought it in 3 or 4 years ago that the engine would turn over, but is locked up now.He also said that when it was brought in that it had anti-freeze and old gas, but they drained it. Looking through to the radiator, it looked to be in good physical shape, with out bends or deposits from leaking. I know that prices vary by lot by areas, but I'm wondering what would be a max offer to make here in West Virginia for the machine.....I'm not even sure that the guy that owns it will sell it, but I'd like to be prepared for when I go talk to him. I might point out that I can rebuild engines and do all the mechanical work..I've resleeved a couple of Fords and all that ..I have painting equipment etc........so I can do most of the work..... Besides looking for a cracked block or other major damage to the tractor, is there anything that is specific to the Farmalls that I need to look for?????????? Thanks !
