OK,...so this is what I figure is causing the bendix problem and will just add it to this post incase someone else is having the same. The live PTO on the IH 300 U is lightly draging, so even though the PTO is disingaged on starting the tractor, if a brushhog, chipper or baler is installed the starter is trying to turn over the implement and putting an extra load on the bendix! I thought about this when I noticed the starters were going out only when I needed the tractor most (when I was USING a PTO implement) So I will try again to adjust the PTO or repair if needed and hope that should end the problem...Thanks, Boomer
