"Turned key stepped on the starter lever and got sizzle sound. Removed and cleaned all wiring (found wire from ignition to starter loose), found battery discharged. Installed another battery and it cranked, seemed to start, but then when I let off of the starter level after hearing the cylinders fire, it stops as if the coil wire was disconnected" The sizzling is from the dirty cables and the reasson it cut off is you have a wire on the starter switch that goes to the battery on the wrong side of the switch. "One other thing is, not sure if it is called a starter or generator, the throw out bearing seems to spin and wine after I let off of the starter lever. It must be engaging the flywheel because I can hear the motor turn over and start to fire the cylinders. I took it apart and found nothing wrong except slightly worn teeth. Flywheel looks fine as well." Are you sure its the throw out bearing and not the starter hanging up? "Also, on a lighter note, the oil filter housing leaks oil through the bolt on top of its housing. I read in a manual that there should be a gasket to go along with the filter, but none are included with the filter when I bought it." I think there should be a brass or copper o ring on that bolt, not a gasket, there should be a round rubber oring for the bottom.I made a oring gasket for the bolt on mine with a thick gasket material.
