Hi Dan, My Dad had a Super C from 1952 til 1958. We had both front axles for it and a front end loader. We also had an IH 45 baler that we used the Super C to run. You don't want an IH 45 baler unless you are a knotter expert. I became a knotter expert very quickly and even made some modifications to the knotter and needles that improved it significantly. The NH or new IH 46 and 47 balers were much better than the 45. Re coulters, function is to make a clean cut in the sod to allow the furrow to turn easier. Depending on the toughness of your sod you may not require the coulters but the edge of the furrows is not clean cut and extra ware will occur on the front (shin ?) of the molboard. My brother removes his coulters when he plows corn stubble to prevent the corn stalks from jambing between the coulters and the front of the molboards. Good luck Jim
