Hydraulic help - basic questions

Greetings:

I have a 1959 460U with a two point fast hitch and an aftermarket front loader. The person who owned the tractor before me did some interesting things with the hydraulics. I want to make the hydraulics more useful. The tractor has one standard hydraulic valve. That valve is fed by the hydraulic pump. That valve is always kept open by a wire holding the handle down. That valve is set for single acting. The output from that single valve then feeds a two spool aftermarket valve like can be bought from Tractor Supply. The two spool valve feeds the front loader and is set for single action (power up, gravity down). The return from the two spool valve empties into the return from the standard IH valve. The front loader works as expected.

The main problem is with the 2-3 pt. Hitch. The former owner has hydraulic lines coming from the top of the IH standard valve. The draft control lever is used to raise and lower the 2-3 pt. Hitch. Of course this is very slow and I do not get the full range of the cylinder. I want the 2-3 pt. Hitch to work as expected. Ideally, it will be double acting – power up and down.

I do not know enough about hydraulics, but I see a few options. Please comment on these options and how to proceed.

1.Can I Tee the supply hose coming from the pump into the IH valve? I would then use the IH valve to control the 2-3 pt. Hitch. The other output from the pump Tee would go to the two spool aftermarket valve. Would I be able to then return the two spool outflow into a Tee that then empties into the IH standard valve? I think the former owner said the IH valve did not work correctly. If that is true, I would have to rebuild the IH valve before I could use the 2-3 pt. Hitch – not ideal for this season.
2.Can I connect a single spool ConvertaValve from Tractor Supply to the two spool valve that presently controls the loader? This to me seems the easiest solution if possible. I just add the single spool then move the two 2-3 pt. hoses from the draft control to the single spool. I then have real hydraulics for the 2-3 pt. Hitch. I of course have to move the outflow hose from the two spool to the end of the valve chain (i.e the end of the 1 spool which is connected downstream to the 2 spool).
3.How do I make all this double acting? Is there a way to tell if the 2-3 pt. Hitch hydraulic cylinder is capable of double acting? I think the loader cylinders are capable of double acting. They have closed off ports that are presently not used.

Pheew! I hope that made sense to someone. Right now the tractor is beat and just for work. Therefore, originality is not an issue. Fast and functional is the goal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a couple days off so I hope to play with the tractor soon. Thanks in advance.
