STP in Steering Gear Housing

While discussing the experiences I've had in refurbishing my H with a veteran IH mechanic, I told him that I was going to tear into the bolster next. He told me that once the bushings and seals were replaced, to fill the housing with STP rather than oil or greese. Said the STP won't leak out as easy as oil and it will steer a lot eaiser in the winter than with greese. This is the first that I have heard of using STP and was wondering if anyone has any experience or opinions on the matter. Fred KS
