I just noticed, on the inside of the outside rear engine bearing cage cover, that theres a groove, say 1/2in dia, and around 8in or so dia. The inside of the groove flange has a gap around 1/2in or so. Over the groove was a papery material that cracked when I touched it. Was this a gasket. What was in the groove, at what direction was the gap on the inner flange of the groove supposed to be pointing? What dia is the felt seal that goes inside the retaining ring. There wasnt anything inside it when I took it off. All the bolts holding the bell housing to the engine were as loose as could be. Not any more. Thanks for hangin with me, and please look at my posts asking advice and directions as to removing the rear engine bearing cage
