hey heretrythis. Ok I agree the gasket probably was made of paper, and I can do that, BUT what was in the groove that the paper coveredWith the paper over the face of the groove on the bearing cover the only way for anything to exit or enter, (if there was nothing in there in the first place, was from the notch on the flange of the inside of the groove. The groove is about 1/2in deep and wide set inside an inch or so from the inside edge of the plate covering the bearing cage. And no, I aint wanting to save the bearing, but the housing arouund it is what im bolted to, and my I & T manual says it all comes out as an assembly the bearing and housing. which makes me think the bearing is put on fro the inside of the housing, but I dont know that
