Mag timing and points condition are critical. Make sure the impulse is working. I've been looking for some hotter plugs to try to fix the hot-starting issue, but can't find any locally.

They're REAL easy to flood too, so be careful with the choke.

The starting procedure outlined below works well for me. When I'm using it regularly (couple of times a week) it rarely takes more than 2 or 3 cranks to light it off.
