Guy: Thank you again, so the Aussie M could have been different again from the British as well as the US version. Do you know whether the Aussie tractor was a direct start diesel. My son brought me home a book on Aussie tractors of all makes. Didn't give a whole lot of specs but refered to Farmalls, Deeres and Fordsons as American tractors. There was some oddball looking tractors in that book. A good number of them manufactured in Britain. On the tire item you mentioned, there have over the years, times American built Farmalls came into Canada with out tires. In the 1970s I used to do some business next door to the Auto Port at Halifax, Nova Scotia. The were always large numbers of non North American built tractors, unloaded for shipment by rail across Canada. Mainly what seemed to be there were British an German built IH. Also large numbers of Fiats built for White, Allis, etc. None of these tractors had tires on them. I remember asking the White dealer about this once. He said the Canadian government were taxing tires on the imports, to the point it was more economical to install tires here.
