H steering woes

Rebuilt my 48 H's upper bolster a couple weeks ago and after driving it this weekend the frt end wobbled worse. Installed new bushings,thrust bearing etc. Re-looked it all tonite. Found a little play in the u-joint-gonna replace. Also saw worm gear pushing sector gear off to the side before turning. The pivot shaft must be worn and the new bushing didn't tighten it up. Any suggestions? I've seen used ones but I figure it would be a crap shoot getting one thats not worn like mine. Anyone had luck having the shaft built up and machined back to specs? Whatever that is? Thanks, Mike In Southern Wisconsin
