I don't know why this hasn't been mentioned -- Pull out the choke. Works 99% of the time on my M. No air, no fire. Since my M will almost always diesel, I pull out the choke just as I turn off the ignition, not after it starts to diesel. Apparantly, it uses up the fuel-air mixture as it dies.
