We have a hose supply place next door to where I work. It Was about 3 dollars for me but i don't think list price is much more. It is all brass, rated for 600 WOG. The handle is about 5 inches long and easily turns 45 degrees to open or shut positions. You will have to rig hose and an inline filter but In my opinion anything you can do to minimize the possibility of a fuel leak is good money spent and something to forget about originality on. sediment bowls are nice looking and all but not very good by todays standards. The inline filter I use is about 2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide, made of glass and brass. It has a much finer screen in it than an original sed bowl and is cleanable. I think I got it from http://www.summitracing.com for about 10 dollars. The valve I got had a 3/8 pipe fitting on the end and I had to adapt up to the 1/2 in for the gas tank with a brass fitting. The other end I put a 5/16 hose barb on and attached a hose there. I will take a pic and email you if you want.

If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
