2200 psi sounds exceptionally high. What pump did you put on it? I assume you replaced the original located between the distributer drive and distributer? Not only that, but a 1000 psi is pretty close to all it ever did. what doest the pressure do when you try to lift the haybine? someplace there's a flow divider, which is there to make sure the steering always gets enough to operate. Have you adjusted it? If it's not set correctly, it'll starve your steering, and imitate a low hyd. fluid symptom. Is everything else stock? I think there can be some wear inside the hydraulic control that will screw stuff up, too, and I don't know what to think about that. I have a SMTA, and although it's an old, pretty wimpy system, it would still life a haybine easily, which isn't that hard. ??????
