Ok Guys bet you have heard this before but I need help. I just took my 1945 BN to the fair and have noticed that with all the new paint and new parts it looks great from the out side But the engine? I have left that for this winter for a complete rebuild. I found four other BN's in the show and not one of them looks like mine. Guess being a racer and restorer of Chrysler big block performace car i should be able to figure this out but go figure the city boy moved to the county some time ago and fell in love with old tractors. Ok the real question. Where and what do i need to collect to figure out what engine is in my little red BN. I can tell you that the engine has a dip stick to the left of the oil filter ( completly unuseable with the steering shaft in the way). Just to the left of that the block has a cut out which on a car engine looks to be a place where a starter would go. It looks as if someone has made a sheet metal cover to keep dirt from entering the clutch assembly. Also the two mounting bolts on that side are spaced about 1.5 inchs wider then the other BN's. Hope someone can help.
