Jason: There is absolutely noting unsafe in regards to pulling with a fast hitch. The only reason I can see that officials don't you pulling with your fast hitch is your can use your draft control and hydraulics to gain an advantage over other tractors. I my opinion your problem is all about the whimps without that advantage. I say if your tractor was designed with that advantage, then it must be a better tractor, for pulling at least. On the east coast of Canada we used to haul logs on sled type devices we called scoots. They had runners turned up on both ends. with the use of slip links you could put the pull chains on either end. When those big Farmalls with fast hitch came out in the 50s it sure put those 6 cylinder Oliver and Cockshutt guys in there place. These sleds were used on bare ground. Lot like a tractor pull, except you had to start the full load. Now that will sort out the good operators. Back in those days we even had tractor pulls like that, whatever tractor could start the highest percentage of it's own weight, and move it 8 feet.
