I went thru this very thing a long time ago....fought and fought with it.....couldnt figure it out to save my life.....like you it was 2 cylinders right next to each other....was laying in bed one night and it came to me....the only thing these 2 cylinders had in common was the intake.....jumped out of bed....got dressed and ran out to the shop....pulled the manifold off and found a small peice of rusty gasket material that I had missed when I cleaned the manifold....cleaned it up....put the manifold back on and it ran like a champ...goes thru my mind every time I remove or replace a manifold.....Good Luck...Rick
