It's hard to see the marks on the cam and crank gears but if you look really close you can find them. The cam gear has two sets of marks, one for the crank and one for the mag or distributer. It isn't that important to time the mag but don't get the two sets of marks mixed up. Done right the mark on one of the gears will be on the end of the gear tooth and the matching mark will be in the valley of the matching gear. I can't think of a better way to describe the process but hope this helps.
