If nobody makes a protective cover, here's a solution. Take some vaseline, and place a thin coat over whatever you want to protect. Then get some of that plastisol dip you use to coat plier handles. They sell it at most hardware stores. It even comes in red! paint it on and the connection nice and thick, and let it dry. Done! Not quite original, but will prevent a mess.
