The problem could be in the drive control valve. This is the valve the lever moved on the left side. Some times with wear when you move the lever it does not move the valve in or out. What I mean is when you move the lever over the bottom of the lever moves the valve out. Next time when you it stops move the lever side to side and see if it moves. This is just a quick check.
