You need to check with your state DOT. Iowa is requiring 4 independent tie downs. This is more stringent than the federal DOT regs. They also require electric brakes if you are over 3000 lbs. Rumor has it that as of Jan 1, 2004 the nylon web tie downs will no longer suffice. I haven't seen anything is writing yet.
