My ten acre field in PA is still in Timothy hay, the neighbor broke his mo-co and had to wait 3 weeks for a part, the hay headed and was not cut. Like you I agree its a fire hazard. He probably will bush hog it and I'll pay him. Ideally, I'd love to have it Flail Mowed, and cut into small pieces, but other than the State Highway dept., no one uses flail mowers, as they are just used for cutting grass. Same boat, good luck.
