double steering farmall B's???

I have seen some B models with steering wheels on both sides of the tractor and some with double pedal set ups along on each side with the double steering linkages. What is all this about? I also saw a tractor the other day which looked like 2 b's that had been connected via axle houseings and had double steering, looked also like it might still have the narrow front end on each? It was in a pasture and looked like it was still in use. I was in a rush and didnt have time to stop at the house and get the history of it or look it over. Anyone know what this is all about?
