I was at Randolph for instructor training from August 1975 through November 1975. Durn! Trying to think what our flight callsign was. That has totally slipped my mind. Did give Tracon some excitement one time in October when we came back no "manure" emergency fuel. Didn't even have enough for a go around. Dumb check pilot I was flying with took responsibility for his "let's squeeze in a couple of more formation manuevers". I also did RSU duties up at Sequine. When it was slow, we would log the cows feet as movements that watched the rockets do touch and go's. They were a scream to watch. there would be like 100 of them hanging their heads over the fence watching each T38 do touch and goes. One real nice ol Texas bar in Sequine where we would stop for BBQ and Lonestar beer after the day was done. I flew down to Randolph a bunch from Vance. "San-Antone, Duke 69 level at-----". Also took the entry exam after the 1981 controller strike. I got 110 on the test and our 2 military controllers taking it flunked. they were not happy with me. Didn't pursue that career however.
