new guy engine question

I recently bought a Farmall M, sn FBX 286544X1. I know it is a 51' model but understood this model should have a C248 engine. The engine says C264 on it. The tractor is red(rust) the engine white(rusty). Is this the original engine or did someone put a super m engine in it? I am new to tractors but becoming addicted quickly. Any advice or help would be appreciated.
