Hey Chad - To your question #1, the ammeter "parking" a bit to the left of 0 while at rest is a calibration issue. You could replace the ammeter if it bothers you. But so long as you know all readings are offset a bit it's not a big deal. To questions #2 and #3, the ammeter indicating deep discharge when the regulator BAT and GEN are jumpered says the generator is not working (also incidentally that the problem is related to the field windings and/or the 3rd brush - not the armature windings/main brushes). However just to be sure, try repolarizing the generator again (momentarily jumper the BAT and GEN terminals with the engine off), then test the system once more. To question #4, you should take voltage readings directly across the battery terminals. If the generator is charging you should see 7.0 volts or a bit more. Anything less than about 6.4 says the generator is not working. Hope this helps!

Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
