But, if it's like my A, the spot on the engine will be blank, indicating a replacement block. The number you cited is a part number. You may be able to find some casting dates on major parts like the clutch houseing-torque tube. Look on page 11 of "Letter Series Tractors" by Guy Fay for help. I've got the same problem and am having trouble finding casting codes, but I'm not to the point where I've cleaned the cast parts well enough to see the codes; they are not apparent anyway. Good Luck
