I use straight 30wt oil in both of my tractors. You will get as many opinions as there are people on this board. They will vary from the viscosity of the oil to the brand of oil to whether you use detergent or non-detergent oil. There have been previous discussions on the use of detergent oil. If you are currently using detergent then stay with it. If you are going to use detergent for the first time you can expect a lot of the old crud to start breaking loose. In this case it might be a good idea to drop the oil pan and clean out what you can.
