140 oil specs

Plan on changing oil in two of the 140's I run. Presently use 30wt HD Castrol in both tractors. Have thought about switching to 15w-40 heard it had better additive package and detergency. Have not done so yet cause manual says 30wt oil with low oil ash level. Have also understood the 15w-40 has somewhat higher ash content but am thinking the higher detergency and additives will offset this. Any opinions or ideas. Both tractors see moderate use. Avg. temp is low about 20 in winter and highs 90-95 in summer. Thanks.
