454 hyd. brakes

I have a 454 when i first purchased this tractor
the right side brake was the only one working.
With in a few hours it also failed to work (peddle to the floor) after some attemps at bleeding the system one brake will work if I pump it 20-30 times. Is there any tricks to bleeding these brakes. Also is it critical to use only the special IH brand of HYD. oil or will some other type or brand work if so what ones would it be.
