Having said that, if price keeps you from changing oil as often as you should, buy the cheap stuff. You are way better off changing frequently with the incorrect oil or sub-standard oil (not saying Walmarts is sub-standard), than you are with changing with the best oil but infrequently.

BTW - Penzoil & Quaker State are owned by Shell. Havoline is owned by Chevron/Texaco. Unsure about Castol.

But just because Penzoil and Quaker State are owned by Shell, doesn't mean that all three of them are the same oils or of the same quality or lack of.
