Thanks for all the replies, The cylinders are 3 3/8, so they are over bored sleves. There is no ridge at the top of the bore and the walls look good. The head gasket even lookes new. The valves have these little rubber o rings on the stems that I think are supposed to stop oil from going down the guide. They are not in the parts manual. The guids have lots of room in them. I think the bottom end and pistons and sleves were done and heads just bandaided. There is no detectable movement in the piston itself. I might take a gamble and just do the head. I must say, I usualy am not too lucky! Thankyou for all the help, That link to rebuilds is great!!
