Had one of those tanks and liked it. It wasnt factory but a aftermarket. It was no problem changing hyd filters. It would let you run all day without any trips to the fuel barrel. As far as being vulnerable I would disagree. It was heavy gauge material for a fuel tank and I'm sure it withstand far more abust than the poly tanks on the magnums we use today. I cant believe I never poked a hole in a 86 series tank. Never did like the front tanks. Obstructed the air flow and caused the tractor balance to change more than I figured. Just my thoughts.
