We bought a B414D new in winter of 1961. Put over 10,000 hrs on it and it was running great when we upgrade it to 454D in 1972. Had the following problems with it: 1) When it was about 3 months old the key came out of the camshaft timing gear and valves hit pistons. IH replaced camshaft, timming gear, valves, pistons and rods all under warranty. 2) When it was about 2 years old it started to smoke. IH said early ones had soft rod and main bearing inserts. IH gave us all the parts and we change the rod and main bearing inserts. 3)Lucas electric system was always troublesome but swapped out generator/voltage regulator with a Delco alternator. The only other thing is the B154D engine is a bit difficult to start at -25F but will start with block heater. But in general it was a reliable tractor. Good luck JB
