Those pins should have threads on it to put a nut on to run them out. When I pulled mine the threads on one side were wore out or had just been hit alot or something but I couldnt get a nut on it.I ended up takeing an old screwdriver and driving it in between the block and casting to get it broke loose, but the nut thing will work if the threads are good. When you are lifting the engine its accually tilting back and putting the dowles in a bind. You could try jacking the back of the engine but if the wont come out lifting theengine jacking probably wont break them loose either.Just a side note, when you put the engine back in,put a little dab of antiseize or grease on those dowels just in case for some reason you have to move the engine up or down some when you put the clutch back in.
