I don't live in Hurricane country, and the most we have ever been without power is about 12 hours, guess I'm lucky. Also, not qualified to answer your question. But, I think you're better off with a self-contained generator. If you leave your tractor or self-contained generator unattended for a length of time, such as overnight, and something breaks, you lose your generator and not your tractor. I say this yet I live in an area where people run natural gas irrigation engines all summer without shutting them off, except for routine maintenance.
