Hi Folks, Great reading, as always. I just read Nebraska Cowman's last post. Thanks for the tip about the manafolds and head gasket. What type of "cement" were you thinking about? Copper seal? Silver spray paint? Something in the "Permatex" line? I got # 1 to pop up with a tire spoon. It's now working fine. The #2 however, the one that was stuck fast, is now moving with a hammer and brass drift. It still won't come back up on it's own yet, but the rope trick in the cylender brings it up part way. It looks like I've got another 1/4 inch to go. I just go out every night and work penetrant back and forth for a couple dozen times, and let her set for another day. I discovered I could take the clip off the stem and get more travel down to carry more oil into it. Had to go to a meeting tonight, so I didn't get to play with it. The rust now appears to be breaking down. First time I tried the rope, I heard something snap, and I thought I had broken the valve head off inside. Pulled the rope back out, and fished around the top of the piston for the sickening rattle of a broken valve, and found nothing. Then took a quick peek at the stem, and found it had moved a mere 1/16th inch. What a relief...! It now can be driven back and forth a good 5/8th inch. It has taken all of the combined suggestions offered to get it moving, and now I'm sure I can get it free. But, that first SNAP sure is a scare. When it returns a little on it's own, I'll go to the reversing drill suggestion and finish it off. Think I'll just leave the rope inside to aid in holding the valve in place to reinstall the spring and retainers. Might even be simpler than shop air preasure. Right now the opperative word is "patience". Thanks All! Dave in WA

The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
