Yes the cam rides in machined bores of the block. Tore the rocker shaft off and found that the head has problems were the stud screws into the head. Going to use some JB weld to fill in the missing areas of cast iron and then put it back together with the rocker shaft turned to the correct position. Also going to make new mounting studs today and see if it fixes the problem.
